Exactement ce qui était promis

Hajar a répondu à chacune de mes questions avant le départ, souvent dans l’heure. Sur place, aucune mauvaise surprise : les horaires annoncés étaient les vrais, le camp était celui des photos, et Youssef conduit remarquablement bien sur des routes qui font peur. Nous recommanderons sans réserve.

Ten days, no filler

We had done Morocco once before with a big operator and spent half of it in a coach park. This was the opposite. Small group, everything explained, and they were honest when something was not worth the detour. The two free afternoons were the best decision on the itinerary.

I travelled alone and was nervous about it. Fatima Zahra arranged everything down to the airport pickup and checked in by message each evening. I never once felt uncomfortable, and I ended up walking the Fes medina on my own by day three, which I would not have believed on day one.

Sommet atteint, grâce à l’acclimatation

Karim a insisté pour la journée d’acclimatation alors que nous voulions gagner un jour. Il avait raison : deux personnes de notre groupe avaient des maux de tête au refuge et tout le monde a atteint le sommet. Encadrement sérieux, muletier impeccable, repas copieux.

Long day but worth every hour. Our guide walked us right up to the granary at the top of the ksar while the other groups stayed at the bottom. Lunch by the river was included and genuinely good, not a tourist canteen.

Took the kids, aged 6 and 9. Short drives, a flat medina, and a beach in the middle — exactly right for that age. The argan cooperative stop held their attention far longer than I expected.

Excellent, with one caveat

The camp was superb and the two nights made all the difference. My only note is that the final drive back to Marrakech is genuinely nine hours and no amount of good company changes that. Ask about the one-way Fes option if you can.

The city guides were the difference. In Fes we would have been completely lost within ten minutes, and instead we got a coherent morning that actually explained what we were looking at. Volubilis was an unexpected highlight.

Dormir sur place change tout. À sept heures du matin, les ruelles bleues étaient vides et la lumière parfaite. À onze heures, la ville était noire de monde. Le conseil d’y passer la nuit valait à lui seul la réservation.

Vegetarian throughout and never once had a difficult meal — they had spoken to every riad in advance. That level of preparation says a lot about how the rest of the trip was run.

They talked us out of a purchase

We asked about adding a two-day desert trip on top and they told us plainly it was not worth the driving and suggested Agafay instead, which cost them money. That is the moment I decided to book everything else through them.

Booked five weeks out and had a draft itinerary the next morning. We changed it three times and nobody made us feel like a nuisance. Final price matched the quote exactly, with no extras appearing later.

Omar brought a telescope out after dinner and spent an hour showing us Saturn and the Andromeda galaxy. Nobody advertised that. It was the best hour of the trip.

Tough trek and honestly described as such — I appreciated that they did not undersell the summit day. The refuge is basic but that is the mountain, not the operator. Guide was excellent and patient with the slowest of us, which was me.

Je suis marocaine et j’ai fait appel à eux pour de la famille en visite. Tarifs honnêtes, aucune commission cachée dans les boutiques, et un vrai respect des gens sur place. C’est rare et cela mérite d’être dit.

Straightforward, well organised, no upselling at any point. The stop at the argan cooperative was a genuine one run by the women themselves, not the roadside version.
